So James told me that starting a topic could help answer questions i have. he also told me that I should stop being so mean to you guys. so anyway, here is my question:
What is up with these folk? I mean I disagree with what alot of you guys teach but im not THIS bad. Why do they think theyre better than anyone else? Why do they hate the jews, catholics, swedes, and minorities like gays and those of different skin color?
I need help answering these questions. and i’m trying to be nicer. im just confused

June 11, 2010 at 2:55 am #9848AnonymousInactiveFelps and company are the direct result of the idea that you can decide for yourself what the Bible and Jesus meant to say, rather than what the Catholic Church has taught for 2000 years.
I’ve seen much worse than you Pappa C. Some of them when they finally took a look at the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church, rather than let others think for them are now Catholics. I expect given time, prayer and the ability to think for yourself, you too will become a Catholic.

So what your saying is that these folk are the literalists of the literal when it comes to understanding the bible?

They claim to be literalists. But they are just pick and chooseists. Jesus tells us about carrying on about the speck in our brother’s eye, while ignoring the beam in our own. We are taught that we should pray that God would forgive our offences (trespasses) as we forgive the offences of those who have offended us. They decide for themselves what they will accept out of the Bible, and what they will just simply ignore. Let’s not forget the Bible still says that it is an abomonation to wear cloth of mixed fiber, (So you are an abomination if you wear a cotton/poly blend jacket or slacks. Unless you just want to pick the few ideas you want out of the Bible, and ignore the rest.If we can’t forgive our brother’s offence, should then God forgive ours? According to these folks, yes, if you agree with them. One of the problems with the Internet, is that Westburo is composed of just a few members of Felps family. Some of his kids disowned him and the “Church” because he was abusive. In 1996 Phelps led a protest at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., where he tells us that, “Homosexuals and Jews dominated Nazi Germany…”
[i:226akk3h]In 2003, before the fall of Saddam Hussein during the Iraq War, Phelps wrote Saddam a letter praising his regime for being, in his opinion, “the only Muslim state that allows the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to be freely and openly preached on the streets.” Furthermore, he stated that he would like to send a delegation to Baghdad to “preach the Gospel” for one week. Saddam granted permission, and a group of WBC congregants traveled to Iraq to protest against the U.S. The WBC members stood on the streets of Baghdad holding signs condemning both Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as anal sex.[66] After Saddam was executed in 2006, Phelps released a video commentary that stated that both Saddam and Gerald Ford (who had died the same week) were now in Hell.[/i:226akk3h] (Wikipedia article)
The Westboro Baptist Church considers membership in most religious groups, such as the Roman Catholic Church or Islam, as akin to devil worship, and states these other churches to be “Satanic frauds preaching Arminian lies. (Westburo Newsletter 7/21/2002)
June 11, 2010 at 6:35 am #9853AnonymousInactivesooooooo…..he doesnt think scientology or mormanism to be devil worshipping?
June 19, 2010 at 5:13 am #9892AnonymousInactivehello?!?! ANy answer?! how about Islam? what does he think about muhammad? Has he drawn a picture of him yet?
August 13, 2010 at 9:31 pm #10032AnonymousInactiveHe believes that anything and everything is hated by God. Homosexuals, Jews, every country, every city. He even has a “God hates the world” site. He considers Muhammad a man who was high on some kind of plant who then wrote a book of lies. He, with his Church, are the epitome of hate. Hyper Calvinistic, this “Church” is a perfect example of what true Satanism is, in my honest opinion, preaching a “gospel” of hate.
