I am not a Catholic yet though I love the faith and what the Church teaches. An obsticle for me is this subject: that the Church is One.
I don’t know many Catholics who believe what the Church teaches regarding birth control, not allowing priests to marry, etc… I even went to a Catholic Church and heard the priest say during his homily, “You don’t have to believe in God to get to heaven…you just have to do good works.” I thought it was a bold statement. I know Catholics who seek out parishes who have a liberal priest. Then there are the Jesuits – and that Cardinal who is blantantly going against Catholic teaching, with no repercussions.
The Catholic Church seems very fragmented to me within itself. As a life-long protestant I can see how the mainstream churches are loosing people and the evalgelical sects are bulging at the seams. People are hungry for God and to hear the truth, and they want to surround themselves with like-minded Christian friends. I definately feel the pull. Can anyone help me with this??
