    I thought that we as Catholics are to refrain from singing alleluia during Lent. But last week we did sing it in the closing song at mass at the parish I attend.

    I think we are to refrain from singing [i:2k3ri9kq]the[/i:2k3ri9kq] Alleluia, not the word itself.

    Yes. The Alleluia is not sung but the word may appear.
