I disagree that the State should ever facilitate homosexual relationships.
If Canada has passed a bill allowing non-marital unions to receive legal benefits similar to a marriage, and this happened to also cover homosexual couples, I would not be (as) troubled.
However, specifically granting rights to homosexual couples while ignoring other relationships (such as someone who is the caretaker for an invalid) is wrong in my book.
I am going to have to part with you on the non-marital legal benefits. I do not think it’s wise that the goverment give benefits to anything other then the traditional marriage. I think our society is confused enough as it is about what a real relationship is all about and giving benefits would send the wrong message.

Weather, why are you saying this? We aren’t promoting gay marriage.
I believe Weather is speaking to the homosexuals and Canadian politicians who approved the law.
Either way, I disagree with the sentiment as it lacks compassion.
