Phil, most people have a knowledge of right and wrong from a very, very early age. In fact, many parishes in the United States have 2nd graders (approx. 7 years old) do first confession before they receive their First Communion. I do not think you are too young at all.

I think the younger you get into the habit the better. At my parish we do Confirmation in 10th grade and there are many young persons who find it to be a great experience.
