Petros in greek,does not translate as rock in english – being petrified does not mean turned to rock but turned to stone – imho what was implied and said to and about Peter was “thou art a precious gem stone,a diamond harder than any rock and it is on this stone I will build my Church” – Christ is the Rock and the head of Christians and Christianity
