One of my 2 Catholic co-workers were just chatting about how her priest announced last Sunday in church that they are allowed to eat meat on St. Patrick Day (because this year it falls on a Friday). Who decides whether this is ok? The only reason I ask is that of the 2 Catholic coworkers, only one of them had this announced in their church and their relatives in out-state Minnesota hadn’t heard this news either.

    Thanks,
    Kati

in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis Archbishop Harry Flynn has given a dispensation for the feast of St. Patrick.

I think I read about it in the Catholic Spirit.
