Can someone be a saint in heaven if they are not canonized through the church?

Absolutely. I’m sure there are a bunch of people in heaven that are not canonized as saints. Canonization where the Church can declare for sure that they know someone is already in heaven. It is not where the Church declares that someone goes to heaven.
