If condoms become acceptable down there then what about parts of the world like here? Where does the Church put limits on it?

If the Church allows condoms even in a small way it is going to a huge can of worms much like when the Episcopal Church broke the mold and allowed contraceptives in 1930.

[quote:388v3aer]With so much suffering caused by the virus, Dowling considers the Vatican’s ban morally unacceptable.[/quote:388v3aer]

And I suppose all those people having rampant sex with no regard for what they’re doing [b:388v3aer]is[/b:388v3aer] morally acceptable?

That’s kind of my thought on the matter.

So true. But more scary is the fact this is a symptom of his Dioceses failure to teach the Catechism correctly. Very sad too be cause Time Magazine has made him a European 2005 Hero[/url:2qntnwiu].

[quote:2cmlpb3l]He watched countless young women many of them driven to prostitution by poverty die of AIDS. He knew that condoms could have prevented most of these deaths.[/quote:2cmlpb3l]
My response would be to set up a ministry that helps to erradicate the poverty, not just hand out condomns. In that situation by advocating comdomn use we are also saying prostitution is an acceptable way to make a living if you are poor. WOW  imagine the implications that would have.

I’m glad the Church won’t budge on this one. It would turn its back on hundreds of years of morality and respect for human dignity.

I can’t see how that simple idea missed this Bishop. He’s become too secular I think.

    God Bless!

Remember guys. This isn’t just a secular matter. Most Protestant denominations allow condoms. The Catholic Church is quite out numbered on this one. Nothing new.

Well, they probably wouldn’t allow it if not for the very nature of Protestantism to bend to whatever suits their fancy (including secular influences).

Well in africa more people have sex then you would think. And sex and things like that are more nomal there, sad to say. I think using a condom isnt right, and i think that scince he sees so many young people having babies, he might think its better if you just dont have one.
