I’ve been reading on various forums on the internet and the topic of sex has come up many times – especially in relation to what Christians believe about it.
One thing that I have read is that Christians say sex is a sin. ” title=”Confused” /> This has got to be the most absurd thing I have ever read about this topic. If sex is such a sin then God is going to send all of our parents to hell and has been sending practically everyone to hell for generations! In fact, God would be sending us to hell for doing what he told us to do (be fruitful and multiply…).
I think we really need to get the message out about what sex really is because some people are being very miseducated.
Sex is not bad in itself, only in certain contexts. It’s kind of like drinking. The Bible does not say that drinking is bad and alcohol is bad, but rather it says that getting drunk is bad. Simply because you can get drunk from alcohol does not make alcohol bad – it means that you need to learn to control your alcohol use.
So sex is not bad and it is not a sin, it just needs to be used properly and in moderation. An sex-saturated life is probably not healthy.

Sex is not bad. Under the right conditions (within a marriage), sex is good, it brings new life and completes a marriage. But sex outside of marriage is not good. It often causes hurt relationship and emotional damage.
In an peer advisory group that I was in, we used to use this comparison:
Fire in itself is not bad. It gives us heat and light when in the fireplace; but a fire outside the fireplace is not good, it can even cause severe damage.

There is 2 reasons for making love (under the right conditions obviously).
1. To bring union between man and women.
2. To be open to procreate. It is never allowed to leave either of those conditions out.
God Bless

You know I didn’t say that. ” title=”Wink” />I meant that if people are too obsessed with sex or if it becomes one’s main focus in life then it is a problem.
March 27, 2005 at 5:56 pm #3974AnonymousInactiveYa I know. I was being fecetious.
So what if you have sex within a marriage but the ONLY reason
is to procreate?
No emotion, connection, union, and so on involved. Will this be ok?
I actually dont know the answer to this one.

Reporting for duty ma’am.

Um… no where in the Bible does it say Sex is a sin, Therefore anyone claiming that Sex is a sin is not following Biblical views. I am a Christian, and quite blatantly, I thank God that he gave us sex. I think where we get mixed up with the phrase, Sex is a sin, is that Sex, outside of the limits God gave to us in his Word is a Sin. Before marriage, During marriage with a different partner, and so forth, that is when the act of sex is imoral and sinfull. Anything used for good can be turned around, perverted, and used for sin. Its all how you look at it.-Siberian
May 10, 2005 at 2:00 pm #4469AnonymousInactiveThat’s like saying eating is a sin just becasue there are gluttons, lol
Sex is a beautiful and wonderful act of love and procreation as long as one does it within a marriage, without condoms. Sex was meant to be natural. God intended it to always be natural. Using unatural substances WOULD be a sin.
However, as long as you do it right, God always itnended for you to do it, and sicne it coems from God, it is a beautiful thing indeed.
