the drug problem of our time.
It is packaged and marketed to young people and our socirty is absolutely saturated with it. No marrige is safe from the threat of this scourge.

Our oversexed, voyeristic society exploits both women and men who are weak and cannot cope with the stress of modern times.

I am no expert, but I believe sexual addiction is the fastest growing mental illness in our country.
It is a growing national disaster that is destroying families and our very culture.

Like much else, sex is, in itself, not bad. Howeverm its perverse distortion in our modern time, is more destructive and corrosive than acid…with the power to destroy good people.

It has become, perhaps, the devil’s single most effective weapon.

Other than the fact that the multiple typos make me look like a moron, does anyone agree with my previos post on this topic?

#3248

Well, I didn’t reply because it didn’t seem like your post pertained to the article (which is the purpose of this particular forum ).

But otherwise, I agree. Just look at how they market clothes with nearly naked people. Doesn’t make much sense to me. :what:

#3258

I thought it pertained. :what: Maybe I need to read it again….

And I agree with what you said. I also spell words wrong often. Don’t worry. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

Not that this has anything to do with the article, but I believe materialism is a close 2nd.

No problem.

Actually I went in and fixed it. You had the “Disable BBCode in this post” box checked.

Hope that helps!

I’ll start another thread on materialism.

It seems some of the people posting about this subject are NOT Catholics,Sex is a great creation God instituted between married Men & Woman and the main reason is to populate the earth. The Bible says that sex is a wonderful thing and is to be enjoyed by a Man and Woman who are married.
Amen to that

Materialism is the weapon. Sex is a beautiful thing in the proper circumstance’ materlaistic thought attempts to twist it. After all, if matter is all that matters (no pun intended), sex doesn’t have a sacred meaning and shouldn’t be treated with dignity. Materialism is the problem, but it manifests itself stronlgy in our sexually perverse society because of how easily tempted by lust humans tend to be.

He said if physical objects are all that’s important than sex has no sacredness. But we know that the importance is not just on the physical. He wasn’t disagreeeing with Catholic teaching, just making a point to support it.

exact quote with my emphasis is:
[quote:4hfvrnwc][b:4hfvrnwc]if matter is all that matters[/b:4hfvrnwc] (no pun intended), sex doesn’t have a sacred meaning
[/quote:4hfvrnwc]
Notice the conditional (if).

Yes, I was pointing out the materialistic line of thought, not the Catholic one.
