    [color=green:1b0ypcbe] If you have the oppertunity to view a program on EWTN about the life of St. Patrick please do so. I confess, I knew little to nothing about the life of St. Patrick. I did not even catch the name of the program. I did not think I would be so mesmerized by it. Was I wrong. After watching it I rushed to paint a green cross on a piece of paper and put it in my front window. It is such a shame on us that we have turned the death date of such a great saint (March 17th.) into a drunken heathen pagent. [/color:1b0ypcbe]

    I totally agree. I can’t believe how many people (in the U.S. at least) use the holiday as an excuse to get drunk. And many beer makers capitalize on that as well.

    Just like St. Valentine’s Day has become an overly commercialized Hallmark holiday. Heck, most people just call it Valentine’s Day now.
