Hi, I’ve met this amazing Catholic guy. I am charismatic !!! Can a marriage work…. how does bringing up children work. He is admit to bring the kids up catholic, I am willing to compromise…..for eg. go to catholic church as a family but allow the kids to make up their own minds (go to a charismatic youth group for e.g.)
I don’t see anything in your website that talks about the gifts of the holy spirit as spoken about in 1 Corinthians 14 (speaking in tongues, prophesying etc) This is for EVERYONE ! How come it isn’t evident in your church ?
Is there such a thing as a charismatic catholic church ? A catholic church operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Why the Hymns ? God is the creator of music…… Why are you still singing songs from hundreds of years ago ?
Thanks so much for your timeOctober 20, 2005 at 5:29 am #5487About Catholics TeamKeymasterHi Caroline – welcome to the board. You pose a lot of questions! ” title=”Smile” />
From what I know a marriage can work – it all depends on what you put into it and how clear expectations are and that you both communicate well.
As for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, I know what you are referring to, but I am not sure of an explanation. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable in that area can help answer that.
Yes, there are charismatic Catholic churches. Try a Google search. I don’t know how common they are, but they do exist.
As for music selection, it depends on the parish. Some Catholic churches do use more contemporary music and some like to use what’s been used for centuries. That older music is a part of our heritage and so some parishes incorporate songs that everyone is already familiar with. Different people have different worship styles and different music directors are the same. ” title=”Smile” />
Hope this helps! Please keep writing with more questions. I wish I had more time to respond right away, but I am hoping that some of our other members will jump in. ” title=”Smile” />

Everywhere, but most particularly in His house and His Bride, the Church. -
