When the Romans pierced Jesus side and blood and water gushed out.I often wonder when one cuts there self it is always blood,were did the water come from? and what purpose did it serve?

I believe it was to fulfill a prophecy. I’m sure there is even deeper meaning, but I know that it was one of the signs of the messiah.
