:” title=”Question” /> I often wonder about people that lived before Christ(like 2,000bc)did they have any spiritual guidance?,I know God created the world, did he send some messages to these people.if not did they know the differeance between right and wrong(no 10 commanments). If they had no spiritual guidance when they died were did they go besides the grave?
September 6, 2006 at 11:18 pm #6893AnonymousInactiveThey went to hell because they didn’t have Christ yet. Once Christ died, he went down to hell to raise the sinners to heaven. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
September 6, 2006 at 11:37 pm #6895AnonymousInactiveMaybe I still got a chance(ha),I always was told once you went to hell that’s it no way out. Also if these people didn’t know between right and wrong why would they have such a devastating ending?

It wasn’t “hell”, that’s just a bad translation. It was an underworld waiting area called Sheol. Once in hell you’re staying there.September 7, 2006 at 7:44 am #6903AnonymousInactiveDepends on when the translation was written. There was a time when hell even in English just meant the afterlife.
But yes, those who died before the gates of heaven were opened were in Sheol/Abraham’s bosom.
September 7, 2006 at 1:00 pm #6906AnonymousInactiveYeah, definitely not “Hell” is in, “where the mortal sinners go”. They went to “Abraham’s bosom”, “limbo”, “sheol”, whatever you want to call it.
Of course, they COULD go to Hell if they deserved it, but if not, they were stuck until Jesus did His whole saving the world thing. ” title=”Wink” />
