Since Protestants split the first commandment into two, they have to combine two to keep the number at 10. So they put not coveting another’s wife (9th commandment) and not coveting another’s goods (10th commandment) into one.

But since “thou shalt not steal” and “thou shalt not commit adultery” are two different commandments, Catholics have always rendered the corresponding prohibitions against their temptations as different commandments.
