It was the first three novels written. They were about the fledgling New Republic in its fight against Grand Admiral Thrawn, am military genius. It introduced some of the msot beloved Star Wars characters to date, including Mara Jade, Thrawn himself, Talon Karrde, etc.

If they jsut turned those three books into movies it would be awesome. But they won’t.
