I was raised and Confirmed as a Catholic but married a Protestant in a Protestant ceremony. After my children were born, I wanted us all to be of the same religion so I was received into the Episcopal Church.

I now wish I hadn’t done that and I want to be a Catholic again. My 15 year old daughter has been attending Mass with me and has expressed an interest in joining the Catholic Church as well.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get back into the Church? Would I need to take classes and be re-confirmed? Does the Catholic Church even recognize the fact that I was received into the Episcopal Church?

Thank you for any help you can give me!
Hindsight is 20/20, sometimes let’s us go just so we comeback better stronger in our faith and equipped, Mary and Joseph w/Jesus spent three yrs. in Egypt. Christ spent forty days in the desert.
God allowed you your forty days away to develop your need of faith in the Church. (biblically the #forty = long enough].

I too fell away from the RCC, and came back!

After I came back and was really into Scripture, all I could think about is the time I wasted studying it outside its interpretation of the RCC.
Who understands the mind of God or his ways? He used my time away to strengthen my faith.

I think the some of the strongest Catholics are those who fell away and came back!

Luk 15:6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.’

Then there is the story of the ‘prodigal Son’ Luke 15:11-32, while the son went out into the world, the Father waited and watched the horizon for his return.

God waits for us to turn to him (not that you left Him, just the Church)

He waited on Moses to turn to Him in the burning bush and then called to Him.
Exd 3:3-4 And Moses said,”I will turn aside and see this great sight], why the bush is not burnt.”
When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here am I.

Wherever we our on our journey, God waits because He is LOVE.

Welcome back!
God bless,
John
