The priest and bishops are not the only ones who have the write to interpret verses for I heard many interpretations that were FAR from the truth after i read surrounding sentences and GOT THE WHOLE PICTURE… and after studying the bible I learned so much about Jesus so much more that I wish I could share it with the world.
The thing is how do you know your interpretations are correct and not there. Many can make the same claim as you do but come to a completely different interpretation and everyone claiming they “Got the whole picture” and both “Lead by the Holy Spirit”. Can you pick up a book concerning brain surgery read it, study it, and then make the claim that you know better than the ones who wrote the book?
What is more important then that the destiny of the soul.
The CC has 2000 years of studying and defending the Bible and as a matter of fact it was She who proclaimed the Bible to be the inspired word of God. Nobody, absolutely nobody has the right to pick up the bible on their own and claim the CC to be in error in its interpretation. That is downright arrogance. After all Jesus promised HIS Church that the gates of hell would not prevail and that the Holy Spirit would guide Her. Jesus never commanded anyone to write down the Bible and call it the KJV and it would be the final authority. He commanded His Church to go out and teach, which it has been doing ever since. It was this Church under the authority given Her that proclaimed 77 books to be the inspired word. It wasn’t your ordinary Joe Schmuck from Albuquerque or Tom Brown from downtown.
Yes we all must have knowledge of the Bible and the origins of the Church so delving into a little bit of Church history will reveal that the original Church was the CC. It was around 100 AD that the followers of Jesus were called Catholic, “Wherever the bishop appears, there let the people be; as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church” on St. Ignatius of Antioch’s letter to the Smyrneans. There were no SDA’s, Methodists, Anglicans, Lutherans, etc. etc. until hundreds of years later. Many of these sects propped up due to their personal “study and knowledge of the Bible”, and we know what scripture has to say about.
