Well, now that the war is slowing down and the U.S. is taking more and more control over Iraq we must begin to ask: why are we there? Didn’t Bush want this war mostly because he was absolutely convinced that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction but yet we can’t seem to find any!
How quickly the motivation for the war changed to Operation Iraqi Freedom when we were unable to find all these supposed weapons of mass destruction. Now, after watching CNN I see that the U.S. wants to invade Syria because of their government. I wonder where this will end if ever.
Is Bush out to change the world and every government that stands in his way?

Resolution 1441 made it very clear that the burden of proof was on Iraq to account for it’s WMD. The fact that Iraq had this WMD is not disputed.
What is disputed is what happened to it. Iraq claims they destroyed it but that dog just don’t hunt.
If Iraq destroyed it, they could show us where and how.
They didn’t pour 35,000 liters of nerve agent down the bathroom sink.Iraq clearly has WMD and it clearly will be found eventualy.
Please believe me on that.Meanwhile, the mass graves, the jailed children and the torture chambers provide me with ammo enough to say this was a just war. This is to say nothing of the 1,400,000 dead at Saddam’s hands
April 21, 2003 at 3:20 am #2161About Catholics TeamKeymasterDo you have a link to Resolution 1441? I’m just curious what the actual text says.
I was talking to other people about the same thing – the lack of our troops finding the weapons – and I had brought up that even though we have not found any yet it doesn’t mean that they are not there. Iraq is a fairly decent sized country and they could be stored underground anywhere. I also heard on the news that there are lots of tunnels and things underground that the soldiers are just now finding as they hunt for Sadaam. I’m sure that there are many things hidden underground in that country.
What are your thoughts about what our government is doing with Syria right now?
April 21, 2003 at 11:02 am #2163AnonymousInactiveI’ll work on locating 1441.
As for Syria. I think they are thinking very Syriasly ” title=”Wink” /> as to whether or not they want some of what Iraq got. I think we will see more cooperation from them…N Korea too.April 21, 2003 at 11:14 am #2164AnonymousInactiveApril 21, 2003 at 6:22 pm #2165About Catholics TeamKeymasterThanks for the link. I noticed it references a lot of other things so I am going to have to take a long hard look at all of those things as well.
