There is a new campaign on CA forums. It is called ‘Take Back the Rainbow.’ The posters over there are sick and tired of certain groups that are politicizing themselves and using God’s wonderful creations to further their agendas. God’s creations, such as rainbows, are not meant to be used in a manner that would give that symbol a bad connotation. So, I thought that I would spread the word over here. What do you think?
Are the groups you are talking about “liberal”?
Interestingly enough, on an anti-Catholic board a poster recently claimed that the use of the rainbow in stained glass in some Catholic Churches is a sign of neo-pagan, New Age influence in the Church.
When the story of Noah’s Ark was pointed out to her, she deleted some posts and closed the thread.
I’m still not sure what groups are using the rainbow in a political way, but in my opinion, if the rainbow is used to truly bring people together in peace then I have no problem with it.
The groups that I was refering to are pro-homosexuality groups, such as the Rainbow-sash people (I don’t know their official name). Basically, these groups are taking a symbol, such as the rainbow, and giving it a bad connotation. The best example would be the word gay, it used to be a perfectly good word (and name) until it was hijacked to refer to homosexual men. I have changed my signature over in the CA forums and over here as well. My signature over there is in rainbow colors, saying “Faithful Catholic- Take Back the Rainbow”. I guess I can’t do colors here, so my signature is in black and white. I was hoping to spread the word here, light a fire so to speak.
Might I suggest adding a reference to Genesis 9:13 or 16 to your signature to make abundantly clear your meaning.
It is possible for someone to take your signature as a promotion that practicing homosexuals are faithful Catholics. Genesis clarifies your position.
