 Is Christianity the only true religion?

Religion is a complex matter. When used as a means to promote self-justification, war-mongering or prejudice, it is a form of sin. Too often all religions — and not least Christianity — have been twisted in this way. Nevertheless, by grace, despite all disobedience, Christianity offers the truth of the gospel. Although other religions may enshrine various truths, no other can or does affirm the name of Jesus Christ as the hope of the world.

Matt 7:3 “Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?”

James 1:26 “If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.”

James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”

Acts 4:12 “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved.”

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”

Rom. 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

2 Cor. 4:7 “But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.”

Yes….but it’s not the only one that contains truth. It just contains all that is necessary.

It contains the whole truth, not just fragments. <img src=” title=”Smile” />

The way I understand it “true” means faithful or loyal “religion” means any system of faith or worship. So one can beleive in ANY religion that one is faithful and comfortable with.

Not if you are aware and understand Catholic theology you can’t. I say this from objective lens because the only one that truly know is God. But I certainly wouldn’t gamble with such a thing.

That stands for reason if one is a Catholic or knows Catholic theology would be a serious mistake if they changed religion’s. I’m talking about people who don’t know the Catholic faith and join other “church’s”. I don’t think they will be doomed as long as they believe in Jesus and his teaching’s.
P.S Talked to a person last nite and she said there is a “church” in the Twin Cities were they stand through out the service(no chairs) I told her I bet theres not to many older people there.

Well then I agree. They are left to the mercy of God.

Christianity is the true religion because it is from Christ, the Incarnate Word, God the Son.

And the Catholic Church is the true Church founded by Jesus Christ, tracing her apostolic succesion back to Simon Peter, upon whom Christ said He would build His Church.
