As you can see by my post timing, I am awake very early and not by choice. I suspect that it is a hor-moan-al thing. Just another symptom of mentalpause- er I mean menopause.
I saw an article the other day by a woman (of course) who also found herself waking at 2 or 3 in the morning- and staying awake. (I wish that I had read the entire article- it was in an office waiting room) She states that many women in their 40’s awake very early like this-and don’t go back to sleep.
They don’t go back to sleep- but they don’t actively get up and DO anything either because most activities cause enough noise to waken the entire family. ( that’s why a good website is a Godsend ” title=”Wink” /> )
What I wished I had gotten to read was the rest of her article- she felt if the world could actually harness productivity of these insomniacs a whole lot could be accomplished.
Here’s my question, and I suspect it is not just mentalpausal women who awaken in the wee hours,: What do you do with the time when you wake up way before anyone else and can’t go back to sleep? When answering please be careful
there are persons reading these posts who very soon could be hit with insomnia—we would not want to influence them by mentioning yummy foods like oreos or brownies before they are fully ‘awake’ to make good decisions.

What I do is get on the internet usually or when I was in school I would work on some of my assignments. There was one night where I just wasn’t tired and stayed up watching tv all night.
I find it hard to do something when I can’t sleep because if I try to do something then I get tired fast (but I don’t always fall asleep).
Throughout high school, I was the first and only person awake in my house for nearly 3 hours. I watched TV, explored the internet, or listened to the radio.
