I am a married father of 2 great girls with a wonderful wife and we are all strong in our Catholic faith and have conservative political views. My wife and I are very active in our Church. We are both RE teachers, participate in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, I am on the Pastoral Council, and we both always participate in organizing various fellowship activities for the Parish.  I am growing increasingly concerned about how modern day Catholics view their commitment to the faith.  How parents are not taking an active part in teaching their children the faith, and how the secular world has become more important to modern culture than traditional beliefs.  I hope to get some great incite and ideas from everyone here.

    God Bless,

    G1J,

I feel you buddy.  What drove me crazy was during the elections.  The ad on TV that said we are Catholic, republican and we are voting NO.  Then the signs “Another Catholic voting NO.”  It is absolutely crazy that these people even identify themselves as Catholic.  Do they think some day the pope will allow for two same gender people to be married?  What is next?  Can I marry my dog?

What is worse it comes from some of our priests.  I will not name priests but some of them did not obey Bishop Neinstead.  He dedicated one Sunday before the elections to one man one woman.  I came in from out of town and didn’t go to my usual church.  I went to another and the priest basically backed away from the message.

I do not have all the answers.  However I have a great idea!!!!  We have the annual Catholic appeal or whatever it is called, forgive me.  The day when our great bishop gets on video asking for donations.  I believe it is played in almost every parish.  We need another one.  This one needs to explain the stance on the unborn that the Catholic church is Pro-Life and will never change.

Anyways thanks for reading my rant.  I really do believe Bishop Neinstead needs to get that video out.  But like I said I do not have all the answers.

    I will pray as always.

    God bless.

    Johnny:

Welcome.  There are many who label themselves Catholic who have little or no understanding of the Faith,  Sites like this help to Evangelize not only non-Catholics, but also those who don’t yet know the Faith.  Importantly we need to pray that we remain faithful, and that other’s souls are lead to the truth by God’s grace.

The late Archbishop Sheen said that he never converted anyone, he only tilled the soil so God’s grace could convert the soul.

We can till the soil by standing up for Authentic Catholic teachings, which includes living a life which is a moral and joyful example of God’s graces living within us.

You and your family will be included in my poor prayers.

Johnny – take great care – for many Catholics will claim to know the faith and state that this or that is what the Church teaches but being misled are misleading others and are not aware that this is so – here in England yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s children have been tampered with physically, mentally and spiritually – the Church is in crisis and Catholics are divided and adrift – so Catholics come home now – twinc
