can a catholic girl marry a marthoma boy(n will it be an added advantange if the boy is a malankara marthoma syrian)
There are a couple of things to consider here. First there are three main Churches that share the same rites. There is a Catholic Church in Inida, that follows the Malankara/Syrian Rite, which is in full communion with the Pope. There would be no problem with such a marriage. The other two are a monophsite Church, and one that is historically Anglican. While it would be possible to marry such a man, you would have to have him speak to your priest with you, he should understand the responsibilites you have as a Catholic, and you would both need to promise to raise your children Catholic. You can obtain permission to marry a non-Catholic after he undersands what the Faith means to you, and is willing to allow you to practice your religion without any pressure or threats.
