Johannes Guttenberg was a printer, he invented movable type. Before his invention, you either had to carve the whole page on one block of wood, or write a book by hand.
The Guttenberg Bible, (The first book printed with movable type) was the Latin Vulgate Bible, transltaed by St. Jerome.
