I know my posting was rather long, however straight to the point, the Church never sold Indulgences. There were people like Tetzel who did, but they were delt with by the Church. The accusation that he sold full forgiveness for sins not yet committed, caused great scandal; both the idea that one could gain an indulgence for such a sin is contrary to the teaching of the Church. So too is the selling of any spiritual gift against Church law and practices.
