it’s just that my non catholic friend thought that it was corruption on the part of the church and that if the church did not really want indulgences to be sold then the pope should have stopped it; pretty much like how our Lord did away with the vendors in the vicinity of the temple…

btw did the selling of indulgences really happen in the vicinity of the vatican? that’s what my friend pointed out…
