Now, as far as I know apostolic succession is not the same as explaining the role of the apostles. It does not really explain being a vicar of Christ. To me it shows that there is a continuous line of people who have authority over the Church which they received from the Apostles which was received from Christ, but as far as being a replacement for Christ I’m not sure apostolic succession covers that.

Do you know of some biblical passages that explain the role of the apostles and their mission? Perhaps what I should be looking for is some that explain how we all represent Christ in some form or another.
