Even though we are sinners, which is a fact. It does not negate that we are creatures of God, being so based on the fact God creates only good things, our basic building blocks as it were is good.

Sin is a double edged sword, there is an old Latin Saying, “O Felix Culpa” Oh Happy Fault. St. Augustine regarding the Fall of Man, the source of original sin in his book the Enchiridion wrote, “God judged it better to bring good out of evil, than to allow no evil to exist.” St. Thomas Aquinas wrote, “God allows evils to happen in order to bring a greater good therefrom”

Most Protestant theologies diverged from what had been taught since the Church was founded on the Apostles, and painted mankind as totally depraved, rejected and repulsive to God.

As Catholics we understand that God remembers what we have forgotten since the Fall. We forget that the world of sin is not the one God created, He created, a universe that expresses His glory, and invites us to share in that plan again, as was His original plan.

This is of course a much more simplified explanation, but we have to start on this great mystery somewhere,.,
