saviorsmessenger – First of all you have to understand that Jesus spoke Aramaic. Thus Jesus used the word “kepha” and not Petros or Petra. For a complete explanation seethis[/url:1uicjti9] link and also this[/url:1uicjti9] Petra in Greek is a feminine name and Jesus would not have given Peter a girls name. Kepha does NOT mean pebble or little stone.
So as LARobert pointed out the Catholic teachings go back to the very beginning. To the CC these novel teachings are nothing new. She has being defending Her teachings since day one. People will come up with “new” insights as though the CC has being so dumb as to miss something obvious and they personally got a revelation from the Holy Spirit and He has revealed the “truth” to them. Sorry, but the CC has had Her teachings even before the Bible was complied. When it was, the Bible HAD to agree with the teachings that were passed down from Jesus to the apostles, from the apostles to their disciples on down the line to the present.
Does anybody actually think the Church, which Jesus promised that the gates of hell would not prevail, has being teaching error for 2000 years? If so, Jesus would have lied and we are all still lost.
